If You Bite It Write It

How many times have you thought to yourself: “I don’t eat much so why am I not loosing weight? Often yeah? Well you’re not alone. Most of the time what we think we eat is not what we actually eat. It’s not until we actually start writing down every morsel of food that passes our lips that you can clearly see exactly what we are eating. It’s so easy to dismiss the sweet you ate here, and the slice of toast you had there or tucking into your kids leftovers. Alas, this is happening to me now that I have begun my bodybuilding journey. I am having to write down everything I’m eating – I mean EVERYTHING. And it’s only when I have the visual evidence in front of me that I realise what I am putting in my mouth. Another thing I have found is that, because I have to write everything down, I realise that I don’t actually want to eat when I think I do.
So why not try writing down everything you eat for one week and see where you can make changes if you are over eating or want to make healthier choices. Look at the patterns like what time of day are you eating and your emotions when you are eating. This will help go a long way in making some sensible healthy choices for the long term. A tip though – write down what you eat as soon as you eat it otherwise you will forget it! Happy logging 
