We live in a world in which we are all extremely busy. There are business meetings to go to, family gatherings, work drinks, an inbox with never ending emails to attend to and not forgetting stalking and chasing everyone on facebook and twitter! But the thing is, if we all did a bit of exercise, we’d have tons more energy to do all the things we want to do and feel great. So here are a few tips to incorporate exercise into your daily routine so that you never make an excuse not to have time for exercise 🙂
Put workouts in your diary – You should plan your workouts just like you would with your meetings. This will prepare you both mentally and physically for your workouts.
Be flexible – If you don’t have a straight hour to yourself, then split up your exercise time. If you can only manage 20 minutes during the week, that’s fine, just do longer workouts at the weekend.
Change your thinking – Exercise if not extra curricular which people do just to lose weight. It’s something we should all be doing to prevent diseases and prolong a healthy life. Exercise means you are investing in your body. Just like you eat, sleep and breathe, you must exercise. There’s no two ways about it.
Do what you enjoy – There’s no point taking up running if you hate it. You won’t stick to it. Instead find something that you enjoy doing. You just have to look at a gym class timetable to realise there is an abundant of amazing classes to make you fit.
Prepare for the unexpected – Ok so you planned a run outdoors and its pouring with rain and you can’t go for a run. Think of doing something else like a workout at home. A few lunges, squats, ab exercises will work brilliantly as an alternative.
See, it really isn’t that hard. You just have to shift your way of thinking. Whatever you do, keep it moving!
