Instantly slim men and women!

Right, we all know we’re getting into the festival season and want to look good but what if there isn’t enough time to sensibly shed those pounds of fat fast enough? Luckily there’s no need to throw in the towel and eat for England or give up on our fitness regime. Instead, while waiting for your diet and workout routine to pay off, you really can “reshape” your body with these fashion tricks and still look hot at the party. And don’t fret guys, I’ve done some research for you too so that you  too can look good this festive season with some handy tips and continue to woo the ladies!

Ladies

Invest in a wrap dress.Universally flattering, asymmetrical cuts whittle down your waist and hide trouble spots. A wrap dress does exactly what it claims and wraps you. And because it’s typically made of jersey fabric, it molds to your body, helping you sculpt it.

Gents

Contrary to what you might think, you will appear slimmer if you wear your pants at its natural waistline. Well fitting, loose enough to drape. Use a belt to nip in your waist. Don’t do a Simon Cowell please!

Ladies

The neckline narrows as it plunges–the lower, the better–emphasising the length of your neck and upper body and giving the illusion of a leaner line.

Gents

Go monochromatic. Wear the same coloured shirt and pants preferably in a medium to dark tone layered with a different coloured hoodie or sports coat.

Ladies

Avoid pleats whether they’re on the waist, hips, or neckline, extra fabric and fussy details like ruffles and gathers can make you look bulky. Stick with simple shapes.

Gents

Stay away from thick bulky fabrics which just add on extra pounds. Instead try for a light weight fabrics and darker colours to trim down the tummy.

Ladies

Dress in all one colour. You’ve probably heard that wearing all black makes you seem more slender, but–surprise!–going head to toe in any dark hue like chocolate, navy, or charcoal achieves the same streamlined effect

Gents

Short-sleeved tops, tees and shirts will draw attention to your middle. Instead wear long narrow fitting sleeves. Besixdes its winter so you’ll look a bist silly with a short sleeve top – unless you live in Newcastle of course!

Ladies

Tailor your trousers so they’re no shorter than half an inch from the floor. A straight-leg cut gives the appearance of a lean, never-ending leg.

Gents

Never wear clothes that are too tight. Having the fabric skin-tight stretched and straining across the stomach will add pounds.

Ladies

Wear heels with jeans or trousers. They’ll make you stand straighter while lifting your backside and elongating your legs.

Gents

Fine vertical stripes will give an elongating effect. In suits try other then white pinstripes on dark. Stay away from horizontals and diagonals because they shorten and widen at the same time.

Ladies

Vertical lines lengthen your figure because the eye naturally follows the pattern, making you look taller and thinner. But don’t overdo it. Varying widths and colours can be distracting, not slimming. Try a poloneck under a striped dress in a basic shape or pin-striped pants paired with a blouse in a solid colour

Gents

Darker muted colours that suit your complexion will also have a slimming effect. Like blues for blonds.

Ladies

Accessorise with long necklaces with the help of some bold or layered chains that fall from mid-chest to your waist which pull the eye downward, making you appear trimmer.

Gents

Loud, overly bright colored Hawaiian shirts even if worn loose are not a great idea. Now that doesn’t mean that you can’t wear these fun shirts when you’re touristing, just stay away from the enormous bright blood red orchids or bright orange parrots flying around on your chest.

Ladies

Hem your skirt to the perfect length. It should fall just above or just below your knee, emphasising the area between your thigh and calf. Mid-thigh skirts draw attention to the thickest part of your leg, while ultra-long skirts can look frumpy.

Gents

If you need to wear a business suit the dark toned ones made of non-creasing fabrics are slimming. Same coloured suit and shirt long enough to cover the belt is best.

Ladies

Choose clothes that fit just right. I know it sounds obvious, but if your self-confidence is flagging – it’s easy to dress in baggy outfits that only add volume, and too-tight pieces are unforgiving of even the slightest bump. Trust me.  The proper fit will automatically boost your confidence–and your style.

Gents

For casual wear the layered look is a good way to camouflaging a wider stomach if the layers are not over-sized and saggy looking.
